The main duties for this job are Assess clients by conducting range of motion and muscle tests and propose treatment plans. Explain procedures, risks and benefits to clients. Administer massage techniques, treating soft tissues and joints of the body through soft tissue manipulation, relaxation techniques, hydrotherapy, trigger point therapy, joint pain and lower grade mobilizations, remedial exercise programs and client self-help programs
Suggest home care instructions and provide information about techniques for further postural improvement and stretching, strengthening, relaxation and rehabilitative exercises. Maintain records of treatments given. May consult with other health care professionals such as physiotherapists, chiropractors, physicians and psychologists when developing treatment plans for clients. 
The job requirements are Massage therapists usually require completion of an 18- to 24-month or 18- to 36-month program in massage therapy from an accredited school anda period of supervised practical training. Registration with a regulatory body is required in Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario and British Columbia.

Family

          

A few days ago, just for fun, I asked my two and half year old son what family is. My son told me that family is dad, mom and me. He used three simple words to describe what family is and they touched me deeply.

One day a few months ago, my husband and I had a serious conversation about family. I was wondering whether I should stay in Canada. I doubted that this was the life what I really wanted: doing the household chores day after day, with only a husband and child in my life, and no other social contact, just consumption but no income.

Actually, I am really a feminist. I don’t like to just stay at home as the caretaker. I want to go outside to be a modern woman with modern sensibilities. I used to have a full-time job when I was living in China, and I really enjoyed the feeling of working not just making money. But now I have become a housewife. I don’t want the rest of my life to be like this. So I discussed this issue with my husband. I expected him to give me some suggestions. Fortunately, I have a democratic husband with a good temper. When I shared my thoughts with him,  he respected me very well. He told me that the reason why he applied for me and our son to immigrate to Canada to live with him was in order to advance our life. If immigrating here was truly bad for me, he would rather choose to keep a long distance relationship and let me be totally free to do what I would like to do. He said I could bring our son back to China or choose to live with him in Canada. He promised to stand by me as long as he could.  He did not want me sacrificing for the family while he got all the benefits.

After our conversation, I felt that he really understood me. I had to consider this seriously. But I still had no idea what was the best option for our family until I heard my son tell me about what family is. He gave me the answer. He aroused a voice from the deeply part of my heart.

So, what is family? Family is a kind of strength that makes every family member focus on the same goal in life, even though there are different kinds of difficulties waiting for us down the road. Understanding each other, fixing problems together and running the family together are most important.

Therefore, the concept of family for me now is one word “together”. I will stay with my family, and  meanwhile, I can start my new career here because my family is the motivation that drives me to and never give up.

I Love Trees

I love trees because they are an important commodity to the environment. They make life possible on this planet, along with other plants. I also love the trees' glorious display of colors in the fall.I love trees because they have many different shades of green, so many that it's almost impossible to count. When I paint a picture of a tree I use many shades of green and many more shades of brown. My favorite thing about trees is that they always seem to have a glow around them. I love trees because they always smell so fresh and clean. I like to go to thenursery because I love the smell of trees, it's so refreshing. It's a glass of cool water on a hot day, or a damp cloth on a hot forehead. I love to plant trees. I love to dig through the soil to make a hole in which the tree will rest. I love to place the tree in the ground, making sure not to disturb the roots which will be the tree's support. I love to water the trees. I love to pour the water on the trees knowing that it will grow. One of my favorite things about trees is that they are fun to climb. I started climbing trees when I was very little. My dad taught me how to climb, along with some useful tips. I especially like to climb my grandpa's apple tree. I love to wind through the branches, and climb to a board that has been placed there. Once up, I like to think and relax, or bring a book up with me. It is fun to let my imagination run away with me while munching apples. I love trees in the autumn when they display their beautiful colors. In the autumn time, splashes of red, yellow, orange, and green decorate the mountainside. The maples go red, the oak and aspen go yellow while the evergreens maintain their beautiful shade of green. Trees make life possible because they use the carbon dioxide and release oxygen which makes it so that we can breathe. If we exterminate trees, the effects could be fatal. There may be global warming, lack of oxygen, and we would definitely not have any lumber or paper. Trees are very important to the environment. The beauty of trees makes me feel peaceful, and inspires me to make the best of myself.
